When it comes to Hollywood talent, Chris Hembridge has become something of a celebrity.
Now, the “The Grinches” star is taking on one of the more popular roles in late night comedy.
The new episode of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” will air Thursday night.
Here’s what you need to know about Hemsworth.
What does “The Nightly Show” mean to Chris Hemingway?
The actor, whose “The Game” has been one of “Saturday Night Live”s most successful shows, says the show “really inspired” him.
He was just “brought in because I’m very funny, very funny and I think that’s what’s so good about it,” he told CBS News.
Hemingway, who also plays “The Wizard” in the hit ABC comedy, has a unique take on his role on the show.
“It’s like being in a movie, where you’re not necessarily a star.
You’re a regular person, a normal guy.
And then, you get the chance to get really into a character, and I love it.
That’s what I’m going to do, I’m always going to be a normal person,” he said.
What is his deal?
Hemingwey, who was born in Birmingham, Alabama, grew up in a family of musicians.
He started playing music at an early age and attended a local band before going on to pursue his acting career.
He made his television debut in 1998’s “The Wayans Brothers: The Movie” and has been a recurring guest host on the late-night shows since.
His character is a musician with an unusual talent: He can hear ghosts.
Hemingway has had several roles on the Late Late shows, most recently hosting “The Daily Show” in 2013.
He has also appeared in the movie “The Imitation Game” and had a recurring role in the HBO hit series “Silicon Valley.”
What is “The King of Comedy”?
Hemingowy, now 47, was born Chris Hembling to a Southern Baptist family.
He is the son of actor Paul Hemingworth and actress Barbara Hemingwell.
He began his acting careers in the 1980s when he was 16 and became a regular on the TV shows “The Sopranos” and “Mad Men.”
He appeared in numerous TV movies including “Borat: Cultural Learnings,” “I, Claudius,” “The Good Wife,” “Maniac,” “Lethal Weapon,” “Saving Private Ryan,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Top Gun,” “Scream,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Cops” and the “Arrested Development” spinoff “Grimm” among others.
He also appeared on “Saturday Morning Live” and in “Saturday NIGHT Live” as a regular cast member.
Hearing his father talk about his acting ability, Hemingwy said, “I’m not going to lie to you, I kind of grew up with that.
I was like, ‘Dad, you gotta be kidding me.'”
What did he learn from “The Lord of the Rings”?
Hemningwell also studied acting at the University of Birmingham.
“I took the Lord of The Rings course and I didn’t really think much about it until the end of the first semester, when the professor told us that we’d be playing Gandalf’s sidekick in ‘The Fellowship of the Ring,’ ” he said, laughing.
“But when we started playing, I knew that was going to work.”
When he was in college, Hemningwy said he auditioned for roles that would later go to David Letterman, who he credits with helping him get his first big break.
“David was always like, if you’re going to audition for something, you need someone who’s going to love you,” he explained.
“And that was the one thing that really helped me.”
What did the actor learn from playing a musician?
“The best part was I learned that it was the sound that counts, not the lyrics,” Hemingwys said.
“My dad would say to me, ‘Son, you’re never going to make it.
There’s no one that you can sing with.'”
What are the odds of him getting an Emmy?
Hemmingwell has won a total of two Emmys: one for the song “Dancing on the Edge” on the ABC series “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in 2005 and another for his song “A Day in the Life” in 2007.
He also received a Grammy nomination for his work in the music video for “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2007 for his music video “Mozart in the Jungle,” and has also won an Emmy Award in 2010 for his performance as the voice of the character Frodo Baggins in “The Hobbit: The Des
